Maui Population Growing

Maui’s growing. According to population estimates recently released by the U.S. Census Bureau, Maui County gained about 3482 new residents from July 1, 2010 to July 1, 2012.

As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the county’s population was 154,834. As of July 1, 2012 it was 158,316.
Maui County consists of Maui, Molokai, Lanai and Kahoolawe.

As our population continues to grow, Maui is faced with increasing demand for services and housing. As I mentioned in an earlier blog, a new high school is planned for South Maui and construction is already underway for a new state-of-the-art police station serving Kihei, Wailea and Makena.

Maui is a vibrant evolving community as well as a tropical island paradise. We have the best of both worlds. If you’re considering island-life I’d love to show you outstanding real estate opportunities. The market is active and getting more so.
