The annual median price change for 2016 of single-family homes in Maui County rose by 10% to $636,750 versus 2015.

For December 2016 the median price of single-family homes surged 27.3 percent to $700,000 from $550,000 in December 2015, the highest price since September 2006. Single-family home sales increased 4.3 percent last month to 97 sales from 93 in December 2015.

For December 2016 condominium sales jumped 20.8 percent to 122 sales, from 101 in December 2015, with the price increasing only slightly, rising 1.1 percent to $414,500 from $410,000 last year.

For the entire year of 2016, single-family home sales decreased 1 percent to 1,076 sales, while the median price jumped 10 percent to $636,750.

Condominium sales increased 10 percent in all of 2016 with 1,310 units sold. The median price of Maui condos increased 1 percent to $415,000 in 2016 compared with 2015.
