Like a lot of people who come to Maui I didn’t want to leave. On my first trip in 2012, I spent 10 days here. I flew back home, gave notice at my job and moved to Maui three weeks later. I fell in love with it and never looked back.
I went to college at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and got a B.A. in Theatrical Design and Technology. I’ve worked in live event production and high-end hotels and restaurants including the Grand Del Mar in San Diego and the Andaz Hotel on Maui.
I first had an interest in real estate when my parents took my sister and I to open houses around town when I was a kid. I’ve been licensed since 2014 and have worked with first time home buyers and vacation condo buyers and sellers, as well as assisting my team members with our clients. A goal of mine is to help more young people purchase their own property.
The natural beauty of Maui is definitely something that first catches most people’s attention. The two things I love most about Maui are a natural beauty and the people. Interacting with people who grew up here and the transplants that have come from all over is the real magic of Maui and Hawaii. The laid back attitude and generally friendly people who call Maui home are a big draw. People are far less concerned with material possessions and far more concerned with family and friends and whether or not your actions are “pono”, a Hawaii term that means “to do the right thing.”
I can’t really choose an area of Maui that I am most fond of because they are all so different and special in their own way. I love the beaches and vibe of south Maui and Kihei and Wailea. I love the rural feeling Upcountry along with some of the most spectacular 5 island and ocean views. I also love the exotic feeling you get in the tropical jungle on the windward side of the island. Each area offers something unique and together make Maui what it is. Half the fun of living on Maui is finding the area of the island that makes you feel at home.
